This works really well -Slice a large onion in 1/2 inch wedges. Pick the largest outer rings of the onion and set aside the rest of the onion in a zip-lock bag to use for a later time. Put spray/oil/butter in pan and melt. Place the onion ring down in pan so that the widest part is facing up. Crack and drop egg into ring. Let cook until ready to flip (if that is your desired way to have your egg and then flip. If you want no runny egg once flipped poke the egg yolk and let cook and then flip again and cook to get desired egg type. You can also oil a baking pan – place onion slices down into pan and crack open eggs and place withing onion edges. Bake 350 for five to 8 minutes until desired egg type is achieved.
Chocolate Nest Bowl
What a completely elegant way to serve strawberries or some other goodies to a special someone or at an elegant party. Take a solid bowl (glass or metal because plastic bowls will tend to shift and can crack chocolate) and use thin foil to cover the outside of the bowl. Melt chocolate or candy melt/almond bark and keep drizzling over foil to create a nesting look. Make sure to get enough so it will be strong and don’t forget to get the ridges of the bowl and the bottom. You can do a two-tone effect of white chocolate/dark chocolate or three if you added a medium colored chocolate. DO NOT FREEZE as this will make the chocolate very brittle. Air dry the chocolate at least eight hours. Gently turn bottom of your new bowl so it is sitting on its bottom. Pull foil away from glass/metal bowl and then remove glass/metal bowl. Then gently pull away from your chocolate bowl. Slight breaks can be fixed with some patching (melt chocolate and hold a piece of foil on the underside of your chocolate bowl and drizzle to repair and hold for a few minutes. Let dry completely before you pull foil away. Your new bowl is ready – would make a great way to serve Mom or Dad a breakfast of fresh strawberries for Mother’s / Father’s Day. For Diabetic’s use sugar free chocolate and if you want to lower calories the rule of the darker the chocolate is the better.
Review: Segmation – A Digital Way To Paint
I have to say I was most impressed by a site I recently stumbled upon and thought I would tell you more about it. I tried the free version and knew I was hooked. Now mind you I am a grown man and have an ability to draw portraiture in almost exact likeness (or so I am told) but I found myself stuck there doodling along. I painted step-by-step until I had completed a piece of artwork. I was most impressed. I found my mind working hard and became engrossed in this process which was a good thing this week since we lost a family member this week. Before I knew it I had passed about twenty minutes and ended with a surprised smile on my face.
The site is www.segmation.com. I will let you know that this IS NOT A PAID ENDORSEMENT and I have received no form of compensation for sharing. It is just a site that made me have twenty minutes of fun and happiness and of a nice moment of relaxation. I will be visiting the site again and again – stop by I know you will like it as much as I have!
Here is a blog post review of Segmation that will tell you more and that I think you will like:

Segmation digital color by number is a relatively new program and is a small, upstart family business. They call this “the art of peaceful imaging” and it truly is a Zen experience for all ages. I initially purchased the affordable program this last fall and use it daily. I enjoy it to unwind after a busy day with work and family pressures. My five year old just loves it! Recently, I have begun to take it into preschool with me several times a week and my three and four years olds are growing more proficient with number recognition (and taking turns) every day. The privilege of my laptop in the classroom is also advancing their technology and fine motor skills. The program is also available for your iPad or iPhone, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/segplay-mobile/id395127581, and, thus, convenient for the kids on road trips and waiting rooms.
There are so many great features in the Segmation program! Different setting allow you to switch modes and play one number at a time or without any numbers at all in case one would like to choose where to place color. You can reset each picture to begin again, so the children tend not to fight if the one they wanted has been taken over by a classmate or sibling. My favorite feature, though, is the direct link that takes you to a shop with a fairly abundant selection of art to please any palette. The Classics are available, such as Vincent van Gogh, Michelangelo, Albrecht Durer, Rubens, and Manet. More modern works are offered, like Paul Klee or Gustav Klimt.
There are fun holiday packs and gorgeous scenic photography offered, too. I feel that all I am missing, as a customer, is the availability of fun and funky illustrations more representative of today’s art movements and attractive to a broader range of youth and young adult tastes.
Thank you for allowing me to introduce to you Segmation, http://www.segmation.com. I hope you will give consideration to many wonderful future collaborations with this excellent educational company!
Family Handprints Art
Saw this piece and wanted to share it with you. I love the idea o putting a hand print of Dad and Mom and then of each of their children on a white background and then having it framed. This would be a great idea to hang over a baby crib or to give to parents from their children on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day or for their anniversary. Would look great above a door or over a mantle for all to see. This would even be a perfect gift for two sets of parents to make for their daughter (bride) or son (groom) for a wedding present and decoration.
