Repurpose A Broken Watch

watch watches picture pictures victorian old antique not working

What a great idea for that broken watch sitting in your drawer with no purpose other then you don’t want to get rid of it because of sentimental value. Here is a great solution – replace the watch and dials with a photo of a departed loved one or from a special occasion. You can also get rid of the watch battery to make the new bracelet a little bit lighter. You should be able to remove the watch back with a little bit of prying from a tiny flat headed screwdriver. Remove the hands and face of the watch and use the watch face as a templet for your picture. Glue down with instant glue or use mod podge to seal well. Replace back and now you have a great piece of jewelry and have given repurpose to a watch that now you do not have to throw away. It does have a sense of Victoriana about it when completed.

Old Spoons Get Garden Repurposing

532902_466968153376330_2117252090_nUse your old spoons as garden markers: Mod Podge the names/drawings of what plants you have planted. Dip spoon repetitively in polyurethane to weather proof it. If you do not have old spoons, cheap ones (10 for $1.00) are available at discount department stores and used ones can be obtained at thrift/yard sales. This would also make a great gift for someone: A spoon and packet of seeds with variety, some miracle grow, bulbs, rhizomes, and hand garden tools all put into a small basket with a bow.

Halloween Upscycle Wine Bottle Decorations

These great little guys will be the perfect up-cycle project that will look perfect on a table on on a mantle. Remove labels with goo be gone and razor. Then spray paint the bottle orange for the pumpkins and leave clear for the ghosts or use a white paint to spray the bottle. Last just cut spooky faces out of vinyl and apply. If you are going to trash it after its use you are done. If you want to keep them year after year and make a collection then polyurethane them. These would also look great out in a garden and what other holiday could you use this idea and come up with something great?
