Christmas Refrigerator Makeover

432023_485600214803234_2095832864_nWhat an awesome idea to make over your fridge – and you could do this no matter what finish you have (stainless steel, black, white, almond). The eyes, nose, mouth and buttons are made from plain construction paper or you could use special papers with prints to give a different feel to it. The ‘ribbon’ is just a strip of wrapping paper but you could actually use a thick ribbon if you have one. Cheap and you can throw away when the year is done so no storage.

Mother’s Day / Father’s Day Card / Plaque

mom mother mothers day card footprint handprints craft art gift loveThis was actually done on a wooden plaque that you can get at your local craft store for about $1.50. You could do this on a card stock sheet of paper for a great Mother’s Day card as well. Use watercolors (on paper) and acrylic (on wooden plaque) and brush back and forth in long strokes going off the sides with each stroke. Use a variation of your Mother’s favorite colors. When done use water based poster paint (used the color white here) and make an impression of hand and feet then finish it off with an ‘L’ and an ‘E’. Something more than just a store bought card that Mom or a Grandma would love to cherish for years to come. I think the same design with blue’s in the background would also work for a card for Father’s Day – I know I would be happy to receive it.

Recycle Baby Food Jars Into Storage Containers

baby food jar chalk board paint herb seasonings store repurpose upcycle recycleWhen you use contents of baby food jar clean completely and dry. Paint the lids with two layers of chalkboard paint. Now you can use a top drawer and have your spices more easily available to you. Don’t stop at spices – what about all of your findings, sewing notions etc.? Would be great for your excess office supplies too like paper clips, rubber bands, staples.

Put a toilet paper roll in the middle and place ornaments all around the toilet paper tube. This gives a round nesting area for the candle. On top of the toilet paper tube place silver.gold ribbons that you have curled. On top of that place a white (in glass jar) candle on top of the ribbons. The 2013 sign was created by cutting pieces of paper to fit the photo areas of the frame. each was hand written (or if you are computer savvy this can be done on the computer). Great centerpiece. (You could also try using all black and white ornament balls) (You can spray paint old ornaments to give uniform look also.)
