What a great way to keep your valuables safe at the beach…. and it is free at that. You can use any bottle where the top of the container pops off – not the cap but on some bottles the top of the dispenser can be popped off from the bottle. Add a washcloth to wrap money and keys inside the bottle so if someone cam upon it they wouldn’t hear it rattle and nothing inside would move. For an added bonus after you really apply lotion to yourself/family place a little on your hand and dab on the bottle for a great effect. If it looks like lotion and it feels like lotion when a would-be thief decides to steal they more than likely ill drop it and look elsewhere.

Milk Carton/Juice Sandwich/Snack Container
I have always tried my best to recycle/up-cycle in my families lives. I have always felt bad throwing these container from milk/juice out. (If you do please cut them down and recycle them). I came across this idea and wanted to share it with you. Follow the diagram above and cut with an exact o knife – and please be careful. If the knife slips (which it will want to do) there could be a nasty cut. Fold over and attack a velcro dot as shown. Makes a nice little snack/sandwich container.
New Years Centerpiece
Use a large clear glass vase.Place four to six small gold/silver glass ornaments in the bottom (you can get these on clearance now). Put a toilet paper roll in the middle and place ornaments all around the toilet paper tube. This gives a round nesting area for the candle. On top of the toilet paper tube place silver.gold ribbons that you have curled. On top of that place a white (in glass jar) candle on top of the ribbons. The 2013 sign was created by cutting pieces of paper to fit the photo areas of the frame. each was hand written (or if you are computer savvy this can be done on the computer). Great centerpiece. (You could also try using all black and white ornament balls) (You can spray paint old ornaments to give uniform look also.)
Recycled Bike Rim Pot Hanger
What a great way to recycle an old bike tire. Holes are already along the sides to insert hooks into or over that can be purchased at any hardware store along with simple chains to hang. Pictured it is hung by a rod and hook system but chains are easier to attach. Make sure the hook that this is all attached to is deeply embedded into a rafter to avoid a terrible accident. Use this for lighter weight pans or use as a utensil hanger. If you want to use this for heavier pots and pans remove spokes and cut a 1″ thick piece of wood the diameter of the rim (use the rim as a template) stain or paint then polyurethane and attach to rim. This will give a much stronger rack that you can hang heavier items on. I think this look great…. can anyone else come up with another usage for an old bike rim? If you can share in the comments:
Sierra Mist Pink Watermelonade
Found this incredibly tasty looking drink and just had to share. I remember one time when my son and I were at The International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, NM and we shared a watermelon drink over ice and this reminded me of that occasion. The memories of seeing the hundreds of hot air balloons at the show for the first time and the watermelon drink were fantastic. Now I will surprise him with this drink one afternoon when he gets home from school and see if it brings back the same memories that we once shared.
