Banana Ice Cream – Yum

943611_326776824120524_1807379374_nThis looks so good I just had to try it……. and let me tell you this is so good! I have actually dabbled with different add ins like:

~ 1 cup frozen strawberry yogurt/1 cup banana flavored yogurt

~1/2 cup Nutella

~I cup frozen strawberries

~1 cup nuts (I have tried 1 cup mixed, 1 cup almonds and 1 cup peanuts to 2 bananas – and these were chilled)

Of course this was not all at once. So far everything was really good and I really liked it. It was a very good for you snack that I did not have to feel like I was being bad while eating it. All ingredients were frozen or chilled to keep the “ice cream” cold. For the nuts I added nuts from the baking section – these are what you eat when you are eating healthy because they are unsalted – the type made to put into cookies and desserts and not the ones you buy they are sugared or salted because they are really unhealthy for you.

What type of ingredients do you think you would want to add to this?

Microwave Popcorn Trick Add 1/3 cup popcorn kernels to a brown paper bag, fold the bag over twice then heat in a microwave — folded side down — for 2 minutes. THAT’S IT! Fresh popped popcorn without any fuss, ready for you to flavor as desired or eat completely bare.

Proper Place Settings

5307_448850101861668_1845974850_nWho would have known there were so many pieces of stemware, plates, bowls, silverware to make a very formal proper setting for each person at a table.  This is a great diagram sent to us by Wendy Graver. Print and use it to make a formal place setting for your table.

Cheesecake Crescent Rolls

medium.12 cans of Pillsbury Crescent rolls
2 (8oz each) package cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup butter, melted
cinnamon
sugar

Unroll and spread 1 of the cans of crescent rolls on the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish (or 8 x 8 if you want to cut the recipe in half). Combine softened cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, and vanilla. Spread over crescent roll layer. Unroll and layer remaining crescent rolls over cream cheese layer. Melt your butter and spread over top of crescent rolls. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and sugar.

Bake for 20-30 minutes in 350 degree oven until bubbly and slightly browned. Drizzle with a little honey if you like. Let cool a bit, slice and eat.

ADDITIONAL: Consider adding some fresh fruit puree like strawberries, raspberries etc. For the chocolate lover add chocolate syrup or cut up candy bars or chocolate chips. Think of crushed nuts and caramel? How about a drizzle of maple syrup with a sprinkle of brown sugar? Just add your favorite ingredient before adding the top layer of crescent and bake as directed. Also, the filling can have some food dye placed into it to add a festive design for a special holiday!
