Hamburger Cooking Tips

While draining the grease off hamburger run a pizza cutter through it. It makes it fine not chunky. This helps when the hamburger still has chunks in it when you want it fine for taco meat or  to place in a chilli.

To make hamburger a little more healthy remove a lot of the fat. When hamburger is done cooking place in a strainer and run hot water from the tap through it. It helps remove grease and will make the hamburger lighter in texture. It will also take seasoning on better.

Hamburger Cupcakes

 

Simple Chilli

*1 can red beans

*1 can kidney beans

*1 can black beans

*1 can pinto beans

*2 can chilli beans

*1 lb hamburger

*1 medium union

*chilli powder

*onion powder

*garlic powder

*cheddar cheese (optional)

*cheesits (optional)

Brown hamburger and add diced onion, then add cans of beans, then add seasonings to taste. Cook for 1 hour stirring occassionally. Serve with cheezits or sprinkled cheddar cheese.

Southwest Bean and Corn Salad

1 can Red beans, drained 1 can Great Northern beans, drained
1 can Black beans, drained 1 can corn, drained
1 small red onion chopped (or 4-5 green onions)
1 green or red pepper (or both), chopped
In a bowl combine all the beans with corn and peppers. Mix well and set
aside. In a small bowl, whisk together the following:
1/3 cup oil 1/4 cup tomato salsa
2-3 tablespoons cider vinegar 2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin salt & pepper to taste
1/2 cup cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Pour dressing mixture over the bean mixture , mix well. Let stand at least
30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. Just before serving, garnish with
the cilantro.
NOTE: is is so good with BBQ, hamburgers, hotdogs or anything
done on the grill.
