Sea Glass Candle Sticks

12741890_1135407989823346_6128668128673226283_nSuch a simple and creative candlesticks that look like sea grass. They are beautiful and inexpensive. Simply take Elmer’s Glue and add food coloring (liquid or gel) to desired color. Remember that the color will be darker after it dries. Paint on a coat and repeat. Each coat will make it appear darker in color.

If you want this to be permanent coat wit two coats of polyurethane.

If you don’t make these permanent you can change the color for holidays, seasons etc. Remove the old coloring with hot water and dish soap.

You can use hard plastic or glass candle sticks for this project.

Don’t think just candle sticks. What about vases, bowls and wine flutes.

Think weddings, parties and gifts.

To give a more transparent look and feel add a few drops of water to the mixture.

Snowman Table Setting

snowman settingWith a salad plate and a dinner plate add snowflakes, M&M’s (for eyes, mouth and buttons) and a napkin folded for the bow tie.  Add a carrot for the nose and (not pictured) add a paper cutout of a top hat. I love the table runner of large snowflakes.

Antler Christmas Tree

Although I am not fond of the rest of the homes decorations I do love this tree. Since it can be made from antlers that have dropped and collected this is really neat. I imagine these have been bleached and cleaned really well to give a clean white appearance. I would make it taller and add some ornaments made of natural materials. What re your thoughts?

Jewelry Hanger Organizer

1472933_786407998052344_1010091832_nTime has come again to do our best to organize and i always find that if teh new idea of organization is not simple enough – it just is not going to get done. So here is a very simple idea to not only organize jewelry but it will also allow you to show them off in style….. and it is very simple to do as well.

You will need a wooden hanger and twenty small hooks – along with something to start a hole (we used an awe)!

Carefully mark placement of places to start your holes (ten on each side). Use what you are going to start your holes with and make a impression with it. Screw hooks in by hand making sure the ones that are on the left face the left and ones on the right face the right.

Here we have left it in its natural state but the whole thing could be painted with a can of spray paint to suit your decorating style and then cover with two or three layers of polyurethane. These can be used in a closet or be bold and hang it right above your dresser.
