Stuffed Peppers Halloween Style

This year when making dinner on Halloween prepare these ahead of time.Make your favorite stuffed peppers with pumpkin cut outs. Remember that you cut out very little because as you cook them they will shrink. Don’t throwaway the tops or stems as you top this guy off to make a great presentation. Serve with a side salad with food colored tited ranch dressing. The kids will love it and it will be a good source of healthy energy after trick-or-treating.

Popcorn For Packing

Directly from the UPS:

Pop Popcorn. Then Pack. That’s right. UPSer Mimi Millegass, a preload clerk in Myrtle Beach, S.C., says, “You have to pack the popcorn down really tight. When the package has arrived safely at its destination, the used popcorn can be thrown outside to feed birds and other animals.” —— I never thought about it but it is an obvious material to pack and is super eco friendly…. those Styrofoam peanuts and bubble wrap are terrible for the environment. I might suggest to make sure the recipient is OK with this and that the item being shipped is securely packed inside a sealed bag or plastic of some kind.

Living Green: Rechargeable Batteries

Rechargeable batteries are the ideal way to power most household items. But for flashlights and smoke detectors, some experts recommend single-use batteries because most can sit idle longer. They’re also fine for clocks and remote controls, which use little power. No local battery recycling program? Look for batteries without harmful metals!
