Halloween Sugar Cookie Mummies ~ Easy

545870_10100141348623202_2044196699_nSo Easy!!! Make your favorite sugar cookie dough recipe (or use premade) roll and cut out (with a knife)  cookies that are shaped like your thumb. Round the ends and bake. Make an icing recipe and drizzle back a nd fourth across the cookies – it does not need to be neat and perfect which makes it great to allow your children to help. You can use a sandwich zip lock bag and cut a tiny piece from the corner to pipe icing. The eyes can be made by mixing the same recipe for the icing and add a few drops of food coloring or you could place two chocolate chips top side pushed into cookie before you bake them. Easy and looks great when you have several on a plate for a Halloween party or favors for a party.

Drag with a toothpick little ridges at the base of the wings. Place a dot of melted chocolate at the top and stick a brown M&M onto it. Place two dots of melted chocolate at the top of the M&M and drag (with a toothpick) up to create two ears. Pipe two dots of colored icing (powdered sugar with a few drops of food coloring just to make it almost runny). Put two drops of melted chocolate for the center of eyes.

Delicious treat for a Halloween party or for an added bonus to a treat bag. If you love Nutter Butters like i do this will surely be a scary little treat you will want to make.

Letter From The Tooth Fairy

tooth fairyMake a very tiny letter from the tooth fairy and give your child an extra surprise when they loose their tooth. Cut a small square a write a letter from the tooth fairy. Fold in thirds like you usually do for a letter. Base the size of that to make your envelope. Trace a line around your envelope onto a piece of paper. Make a triangle going away from each side of your envelope. Cut and fold on lines. Seal with a drop of wax. What a little keepsake for your child to have when they grow up – after the child receives the letter attach the letter/envelope to a small baggie with the tooth.

Happy Fathers Day Childs Handprint Tree

971810_641736929189732_1109393344_nCreate by computer using clip art or paint by hand a tree on white paper. Paint your child’s hands with poster paint or watercolor paint from a tube. Use different colors and variations of colors that appear on a tree. (Blues, greens aqua, yellows) You can also use a stamp pad but the colors won’t be as pronounced. Make imprints overlapping one another. In this picture we used one hand print from each child in the family. We used clip art and printed this out on thick “cardboard/card stock” white paper. We also printed it out with Happy Father’s Day – and it would look nice if you fathomed a little wording such as a poem at the bottom. Give enough time to dry and frame your artwork. It is a little something special that can be hung in your home or used in his office.

Past and Future Lessons

I love the thought of past and future when you talk about lessons because that’s what I believe life is about – Lessons. We learn lessons everyday, some hard and some so small we barely notice. We make decisions and then the outcomes reflect a positive or negative experience. Our brains seem to be hard wired to remember those end results and we should make better decisions in future situations. It is for those destined to repeat those lessons that did not learn from them the first times.

I have always believed that life is like this very long road. This road has many forks in it that represent decisions we must make. One of the roads from this fork is a straight shot with no ups and dons and no obstacles. The other fork leads to mountains and hills, streams and rivers that we must cross. Either path comes to the same main road that we call life.

Destinies happen on the main road like marriage, birth of a child and sadly death but it is up to us to make the right decisions and learn from the outcomes both good and bad. If we do not learn from them then we are destined to repeat the vicious cycle until we learn from them.
