I have been asked by several comments to give more instructions and to also provide information as to the materials and where we got them. First the Mickey Mouse was a huge four foot mickey we purchased from a department store during Black Friday. We cut the hands, feet and head off. We took stuffing from the body and stuffed the hands, feet and head so that they were very firm. We sewed the hands, feet, and head closed leaving a small section in the middle for a PVC pipe to be pushed into and secured with E6000. We purchased black and red ornaments that were glass. In hindsight I would have purchased shatterproof because we had a small one in the house and she thought it was just a huge play toy – lots of lessons taught. We purchased wide red ribbon that had the texture of burlap that was red and had glitter on it. We used a six to seven foot white tree that we purchased from a department store which costs about $65.00. We attached the feet and hands to one of the branches coming out of the tree with white twine in several spots to give good anchoring. The head was attached pretty much the same way but it went down at an angle so it got attached to three branches that it was near. The ribbon was tried back through and around the trunk with the bow placed to the front. I also used a couple of twist ties to tie to the branches that were around. I made three holes evenly around the hat and tied white ribbon onto them so the hat could be attached at the top and not come off. Play with the design of the hat – we went back and fourth to decide how it needed to look – completely of the top of tree or just keep above Mickey’s head. Hope this all made sence – but if you have questions please ask within the comments.

Marshmallow Snowmen Christmas Cupcakes
These are super easy to make and look and taste so good! Make chocolate cupcakes (or any flavor that is your favorite) and ice with frosting. The above shows two versions one is left alone at this point and the other is now topped with coconut. Shown is a snowman melting and a full snowman for ideas.
For melting snowman: Use a pretzel stick and insert into the bottom of a marshmallow and insert into cupcake. Add black icing for eyes, mouth and arms. Use green icing for buttons and orange for nose.
For full snowman: Use a pretzel to join two (one small and the other large) marshmallows together and insert another one in the bottom of the largest and insert into cupcake. Top with fondant icing hat (and make one with icing). Add pretzels for arms, red liquorice for scarf. Use black icing for eyes and mouth, Orange icing for nose and blue for buttons.
This is a lot of fun and the kids can help you make each one have its own individual personality.
Lady Bug Painted Rocks
Such a simple little thing to do with the kids on a boring summer afternoon. Rocks should be cleaned with an old scrubber and dried overnight. Use acrylic paints and start with covering the rock with black paint. You may want to make two coats allowing to dry completely in between. Follow the simple design from the picture and paint the areas red where indicated and dry. Top with a clean black line down the middle of the back and add black dots on the back also. Add a black dot in the center just after where the red starts on the back. Add two white dots on the face for the eyes. Let dry. When it is all dry coat with two coats of polyurethane to seal. Would make a great gift for the wee ones to give to parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles. Can be placed back in a garden or used as a creative paperweight.
