Rice Crispie Treat Hollow Egg For Easter

11385_449897131750099_1159314075_nThis is a great little treat to make for Easter and you can even get your kiddies in on  this one. Make the recipe as usual. Coat the inside of several plastic eggs with butter to prevent sticking. Push a small amount into each side of the egg making sure to cover the inside completely. Level with your fingers as close as you can. Now here you have an option – put the jelly beans inside now (and they may get stuck) or let the 2 halves dry and then put the jelly beans or other surprise inside. If you let it dry you need to use melted chocolate or  gently heat the flat area where the egg halves need to attach in a pan and quickly place surprise inside and seal to other side.

SOME IDEAS

~Use food coloring to dye the treat

~Coat the inside with Nutella or chocolate

~Add Easter festive candy sprinkles to the treat mixture

~Decorate the outside with royal icing designs – use coloring to make more festive – or attach candies while icing is still unhardened

~Melt candy bars (milky way, snickers, mounds) in a pan and place a spoonful into each half before closing

~Use flavored marshmallows to make the treat recipe – I have seen mint, strawberry, chocolate

~Spoon into each half a recipe like no bake cookie or squish in a soft cookie to mold into the inside of the treat of each half

~Tie around the “attached” area  a small “plastic” ribbon

This would make a great little desert that can be made cheap for a party, or classroom treat for Easter.I think this would also make a great party favor for a bridal shower or baby shower. Opening the egg could unveil a small plastic baby.

Crafty Egg Surprise CHEAP

eggSent to us from Cynthia and this originates from FaceBook profile: LittleBirdieInvitationsandDesigns. What a great cheap little egg gift that could be used to put in a basket, to decorate a table, little party gifts for adults, name tags with a tag tied on with a pretty ribbon. You can even used a multitude of different colored yarns that you have as leftovers. I am even thinking red, white and pink for Valentines Day, black and orange for Halloween. Birthdays could be colors to match your theme. Christmas red, green, white with something just very special inside. See where I am going? I even think you could get extra creative and glue or tie little embellishments onto these to make them extra special. You could even get the kids involved to make a bunch for a class party.

Sheep Cupcakes

74581_372032812892728_829777580_nBack chocolate cupcakes and ice in white butter cream. While icing is still very tacky stick marshmallows all over the top. Top with a black licorice gumdrop (or  use grape). You might need a toothpick to hold this on since it is heavier then the marshmallows. Add licorice for ears and tail (licorice ropes or sticks cut down to size). Pipe eyes on and make impressions for the nose. Nice treat.

White Grape Peach Hawaiian Punch Spritzer

Angie_NewYearsRecipe5-200x300 Angie_NewYearsRecipe7-300x200

A delicious white grape spritzer is the perfect drink to bring in the New Year. Frozen fruit serves as yummy ice cubes and the super sour rim just might be sour enough to knock you into 2013.
What you need to make this delicious drink: 6 cans Welch’s white grape peach juice, 1 bottle cold sparkling white grape juice, fruit cocktail that you will freeze into pieces, Hawaiian Punch “singles to go” packets.
Dip the rim of a glass into the Welch’s white grape peach juice and then press the rim down into the Hawaiian Punch powder.
To create the Spritzer: 1. Add a few pieces of frozen fruit to the glass.  2. Fill half of the glass with Welch’s white grape peach juice. 3. Fill the rest of the glass with sparkling white grape juice.
Fruit flavored suckers make the perfect stirrers for these Super Sour White Grape Spritzer! If the Hawaiian Punch is too sour on the rim, use sugar instead.

New Years Coasters

551805_10151167197651727_453366977_nThese are pre-printed coasters that you can just buy in a store but wouldn’t these make a great addition to your new years festivities. Make something similar on a publisher type program on the computer and print on thickest card stock that your printer will print on. Use decoupage to permanently adhere your design to thin pre-cut wooden circles you can get at your local art/craft/hobby store. Your guest can have a nice little keepsake from the turning of the year.
