This is particularly true if you don’t have enough free space, which is what a lot of parents are dealing with nowadays. Well, this is exactly why you should opt for a concept of multifunctional rooms that feature indoor play areas within them! The majority of people choose to combine playroom with their kids’ bedroom simply because that’s the most practical solution, but you know what? Bathtub in the bedroom? Why not!

Yes, we know that it seems a bit silly, but the fact is that a lot of people are deciding to put a bathtub in their bedroom these days. The reasons for that are more than good, and the first one is not having enough space to fit the tub in their bathrooms. Even though a bathtub isn’t an obligatory part of a bathroom, many people love to have it because it provides the ultimate spa experience in the comfort of their homes. Of course, designing your bedroom with a bathtub in mind is much easier when you’re building a new home, so make sure to contact new home builders if that’s the case and consult with them about everything you want. That’s the best way to make your wishes come true!

Convertible bedrooms are all the rage these days

On the other hand, if your bedroom is a bit smaller than you hoped for and there’s nothing you can do to get more space, we must say that a convertible bedroom should be your first choice. This is the perfect time to get creative with your sleeping arrangements, too, as traditional beds tend to take up a lot of floor space. In order to utilize the space in the best possible way, you should take fold-down beds into consideration. Such beds are very popular because they are hinged against the wall at one end, which means that you can store them vertically inside a closet or cabinet. Just give it a fair shot and you’ll see how sleek and practical they actually are!

Kitchen and dining room combo is a winning one

As mentioned above, multifunctional rooms are gaining momentum these days, and that’s because they are designed to maximize your space and make your life much easier. So, if you want to save some space and contribute to a warm family atmosphere in your home, you should certainly opt for a kitchen and dining room combo. We can freely claim that this is a winning combo – especially if you’re into open-floor plans, so don’t go for a separate dining room and you’ll see what we were talking about. Also, more and more people are very much into cooking and socializing at the same time, and this concept allows you to do that. Of course, it’s a great choice for smaller homes, too, so don’t waste your space unnecessarily and merge these two together!

If you’re one of those people who spend a lot of time working from home, you surely know that a home office isn’t a luxury, but a bare necessity. This is particularly true if you have small children who don’t understand that mommy or daddy can’t play because they have to work, so don’t wait any longer and design your own home office. This room doesn’t have to be big at all – in fact, the majority of people don’t have a separate room that can be turned into a home office, so work with what you have and you won’t go wrong. For example, if you have a large bedroom, you can choose one silent corner and add a desk and a chair to it. A cool room divider made from wood is a great idea if you want some privacy, and the best thing about it is the fact that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on it. Instead, put your crafting skills to good use and make one on your own!

4 Things Every Children’s Bedroom Needs

As we love our kids so much, we often strive to give them the best of everything that we can. After all, your little princess or prince is the most important person in your life. Aside from teaching them responsibility and discipline, they also deserve the royal treatment. Why not start by redesigning their castle i.e. their bedroom? As your child grows you’ll get new opportunities to decorate their room, meaning that now you have the full freedom to experiment with the design. Of course, it can be easy to get carried away when you start having fun decorating, so here is what every child’s bedroom actually needs.

1. A personal touch

Without a personal touch, your kid’s bedroom will end up looking cold and generic. You don’t want all that hard work to be for nothing, so a touch of warmth will go a long way. Personal touches can be introduced to the room in many ways. The more unique you are, the better. One of the best ways to bring warmth and love through touch to your child’s room is to let them help with decorating. This may be a fun project for you, but children have a special way of looking at things.

When painting the room, you can let your child paint their palm in a different colour and press it to the wall. Then, let them sign their name in paint next to the palm print. That can be their unique stamp on the room. Just make sure to use non-toxic paints for this project. As well as that, you can look up some interesting DIY projects and create personalized room décor with your kid.

2. The bed

The bed might be the most important part of your child’s bedroom. You may think that you can just get any frame and mattress and be done with it, but that’s not all there is to it. Picking out the perfect bed will tie the room together better than anything else. As well as that, this is the most functional piece of furniture you’ll buy for their bedroom, so you need to make sure it’s comfortable and high quality. Ideally, you want to invest in a good bed that they won’t outgrow and that won’t succumb to wear and tear any time soon. That’s why it’s always a good idea to read a few bed buying guides before you make your purchase.

As well as the quality of the bed, the position is important too. Where you place the bed will set the tone for the whole bedroom. Placing it next to the wall makes for more playing room and concise design, but centre-placement often makes the room look warmer and more complete.

3. Toys!

No children’s room is complete without the toys. After all, their magical bedroom will mean nothing to them if they don’t have anything to play with. Toy shopping is also a great opportunity to learn something new about your kid. You’ll be up to date with their interests and will get to see exactly how their little brain works. As well as that, you’ll be working on their creativity.

You should look for quality kids toys in all segments. From art to sport, from dolls to toy cars, your kid should have a little bit of everything to play with. This way, you’ll expand their mind and interests and do wonders for their creativity. The quality of the toys will have a lot to say in how much their interest is sparked, so don’t be afraid to splurge a little.

4. Don’t neglect the walls

The walls are your biggest canvas in any room. When it comes to your child’s room the sky is the limit in wall decoration. Depending on your budget, you could go from painting the room together to incorporating lots of fun gizmos. Your goal is to create a room as colourful and cool as you can. You can start this by painting every wall in a different colour.

If your child is artistic, you can create a drawing section on one of the walls where they would be allowed to create their own art. Those who want to go a step further can easily put a blackboard over the wall surface and let their kid’s imagination run free. A wall blackboard may also be useful for making to-do lists and writing important things down.

Conclusion

Some parents think that going all out for a childhood bedroom is unnecessary because children grow, but what they don’t realize is that they’re giving their child memories they will cherish forever. From being involved in the design process to spending innumerable hours playing in their magical room, the experience is bound to stay with them well into adulthood.

Create The Right Look For Your Kids’ Room Without Spending A Fortune

It is always difficult to choose a design for your child’s room. Even asking them to assist in choosing can make it more difficult as many if their ideas are not practical or affordable! Children change so quickly that the room will almost be outdated as soon as it is finished! To create the right look, without spending a fortune follow these tips:

Mix & Match

Children do not necessarily need their favorite cartoon character on the wall; they are usually more than happy with bright and possibly crazy colors. Give your child’s room a fun feel by adding streaks of color across the wall in paint or via the wallpaper. Add a basketball net to really keep the fun atmosphere!

Fun Furniture

Rather than having specific theme based furniture opt for something that is practical and will last for years. A simple table with pencil style legs and a bright color will create just the right effect for any child. Even the stools or the chairs for the table can be brightened by adding decals; these can also be removed and replaced as they grow. An extra novel touch which will add a fun element and help to keep noise down is to add socks to the bottom of movable furniture.

Patterns

All items of furniture can be brightened by being painted a nice bright color. They can also have decals or even artwork painted onto them to create a stunning, visually pleasing and unique piece. This will have a special significance to your child and stay with them for years!

Pallets

Recycling old pallets is becoming exceptionally popular. They can be used to create beds, settees or simply head rests.  They are relatively easy to take apart and can be sanded and painted if required. This makes them perfect as affordable furniture which can be adapted to your child’s needs as they grow.

Grown Up Bed

A metal frame bed can be ornate and give the appearance of a bed fit for a princess or an adult’s bed. This makes it perfect for your child’s bedroom; it will literally grow with them and can be adapted to fit any theme. You can even decorate the bed with personal touches to match the room.

Old cars

Old cars or other old toys can make excellent coat hooks and add a real touch of style to a room! Your child probably has too many toys and will not mind a few of their unused items going on the wall.  This type of style can last for many years.

The Alphabet

Young children will like the look and feel of letters being o their walls, especially if they are raised off the wall and they can touch and feel them. You can also create a chalkboard wall which will allow them to create their own artwork; which can change as they age.  If you do choose this option be sure that your child knows to only draw on that space, not all the walls!

Art work

Instead of random but visually appealing pieces of art, take some of your child’s favorite photos and have them blown up. These can then be added to the wall to create a stunning visual reminder of a specific occasion. If possible split a photo into three images to create an even better look.

Space

Always arrange the room so that they have space to move around. Their bed should have its own area and a desk can take a different corner. The central space should remain free for them to move around and either play or relax in. If the kids have small rooms and it’s difficult for them to stay organized, invest in custom furniture pieces with lots of storage spaces. Stools, open shelves and beds with hidden compartments are excellent ideas.

Comfort

When decorating a room it’s very important to make it feel comfortable too, not just look nice. Blankets, covers and cushions are a must-have. You want the kids to sleep well, and at the same time enjoy spending time in their room. Throw pillows are a nice tough too, because they make a space appear really cozy and inviting.

There is no limit to what is possible, simply look around you and take inspiration from everyday items! Ask for your kids’ opinion before doing anything. They might have a particular preference for the paint on the walls, or furniture. Talk to them and find a way to reach mutual ground. This way their room will fabulous without you having to invest a fortune in the design.

Piano Reformation Into A Bar

1422381_820159468109537_4289787679311676909_nI found this design online and though that it was an incredible repourpose of a piano that apparently is no longer usable. I could also see this made into a dining room hutch and buffet style piece of furniture. Nice to see something so grand used in a different way.
