Easter Egg Tree

1240362_617105098362634_1359028214_nI am always on the lookout for great decorations and I actually love it when I come across a decoration that I can make that looks great and has potential for making a few relatively cheap that i can make as gifts. This is one of them.

Starting with a foam base, plastic eggs 9plain or with designs to fit your decor (or the recipients) and Easter grass (pictured we used crumpled paper shreddings (make yourself with your office shredder or sometimes you can get these at the dollar store). You will also need a glue like E-6000 (and we used bobby pins to help make them quicker). Hot glue will give you lots of problems with this craft as it does not like styrofoam at all.

Start at base and glue layers of eggs then grass (we put two small holes about a 1/4 apart and insert bobby pinued through these – and then glued before pushing onto styrofaom – this eliminates the need to hold until glue grips well).

This can be made for a permanent decoration or if giving to a recipient each egg could hold a surprise – although who would want to open something so nice.

Valentines Day Gingerbread House

394439_231416760274935_1765302004_nWho ever said that Gingerbread houses are just for Christmas? We see them a lot for Halloween now but for Valentines Day?!?!? Here we have a great simple gingerbread house design assembled with all kinds of Valentines Day goodies. This would be a great gift and can be stuffed with even more goodies for a special gift. I have seen these for Halloween and Christmas that the roof is actually a lid –  how cool would that be?

‘I Think You Are Just Write’ Valentines Day Favors

1521828_710373558980683_325080928_nWhat a great Valentines Day favor for your child to give to their classmates. Print the below graphic out at 4″ wide by 3″ tall. Cut at lines to each side of text to insert a mechanical pencil, special design regular pencil or special red pen. Have your little one sign the bottom with their names. You could also add a ribbon bow at the top for a more dramatic look. It is suggested to print on cardstock. Pencils and Pens with Valentines Day theme can be purchased at many dollar stores. Also think about adding a nice sticker to the back.

Attack a piece of black pipe cleaner to he top and add a hang tag that says “You’re The Bomb”. Would be a nice party favor or great to give to kids at school for Valentines Day.

Candy Cane Candle Holder / Placecard Holder SIMPLE

47310_301268786658094_1510707828_nWhat a wonderful creation that would make great candle holders. Even making enough for a little take home keepsake for each of your guests would not be costly and be very unique. You will need eight wrapped candy canes. Start with two and continue hot gluing each as you go along. You will not need a lot of glue and low setting is just fine. When you get about half way through you will need to keep the candle in place as well so it will all look just right when you finish off with the eighth candy cane. Finish with a ribbon and bow. You could also make smaller versions of these with just four candy canes and use them as name tag holders. Make sure the ‘hook’ of the candy canes stay on a flat surface to make sure your end product can stand on its own. This will be such a great addition to your Christmas party and everyone will really enjoy them.
