Orange juice may be the go to drink for vitamin C, but new research shows that other fruit juices may contain just as much. Using a new, more accurate method of measuring vitamin C, scientists found that some brands of apple juice, and even grape and pineapple juice, contain levels of vitamin C that are as high or higher than those in orange juice. If you are not an orange juice fan, or just want more variety, you can switch it up a little and still get your vitamin C.
Here is a fun game that puts those old sock to good use – especially the ones whose mates have long since disappeared to good use…. and its more than simple to get started. First fill each sock with about a cup of sand or dirt – you will need 3 socks per player. Use rocks to form two 2-foot circles about 10 feet apart each with a single rock in the center. Players take turns at one ring tossing the socks to the other ring. They get 5 points for each sock they land inside the ring, 10 if the sock lands resting against the center rock. First player to fifty wins the game!
Are you ready? The chilly breeze, the early morning frost, the evening cool downs, leaves changing colors and falling leading to that peaceful time of year where everything sleeps and waits to be awakened in the spring. Part of me looks out the window and wants it all to hurry, knowing as soon as it comes I will count down looking forward for all that spring has to offer. Love it or not…. Fall is almost here!
