We have all seen pine cones used in crafts and arts but did you know that pine cones can be home to little critters that you do not want in your home? Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Take your cookie sheet outside and place pine cones in a single layer. You do this outside to avoid any more time the critters have to get into your home. Take inside and put into 200 degree preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes. This will also help eliminate any sap that the pinecones hold. Cool and they are not ready for your crafting. This also will make them slightly more porous so that different glues will bind better with them.

Mickey and Minnie Easter Eggs
Easter Egg Tree
I am always on the lookout for great decorations and I actually love it when I come across a decoration that I can make that looks great and has potential for making a few relatively cheap that i can make as gifts. This is one of them.
Starting with a foam base, plastic eggs 9plain or with designs to fit your decor (or the recipients) and Easter grass (pictured we used crumpled paper shreddings (make yourself with your office shredder or sometimes you can get these at the dollar store). You will also need a glue like E-6000 (and we used bobby pins to help make them quicker). Hot glue will give you lots of problems with this craft as it does not like styrofoam at all.
Start at base and glue layers of eggs then grass (we put two small holes about a 1/4 apart and insert bobby pinued through these – and then glued before pushing onto styrofaom – this eliminates the need to hold until glue grips well).
This can be made for a permanent decoration or if giving to a recipient each egg could hold a surprise – although who would want to open something so nice.
Baby Shower Decorations That Turn Into A Gift
Use clear disposable cups. Use diapers/receiving blankets and fold so the top of the blanket will come over the edge. Notice how the one side of the top is higher than the other – play with the fabric when rolling and tuck to give desired luck. Wrap cup with a ribbon and attack embellishment. Top with a pompom to look like a cherry. These can be used at a baby shower for decorations or used as name cards at a table. They then can be presented to the mommy/daddy to be to take home a use. Heck, you could even use this as a party game for your guests.
