(Think herbs or long grass) The clothespins could be glued permanently on and they could also be painted before putting them on or spray painted after they are on. Here a tuna can thoroughly washed out was used.

2 Liter Plastic Pop Bottle “Purse”

Cut and measured just above the bumpy “feet” all the way around, a zipper fastened in a color coordinated color is sewn onto the plastic ends. This makes a perfect little pouch for a lunch item or to keep change in and would definitely be a conversation piece.
