Santa Clause Suit Ornaments & Gift Tags

12191076_865135440272887_3788092038115380528_nThis really cool idea from www.craftymorning.com is simple but make a big impact. Use construction paper for the main card and belt (or black ribbon for the belt). A pop top is used for the buckle, two little doo dads (you could use sequins, or any number of little doo dads you probably already have in your craft stash) and thin string for the the ornament hanger. Either of these could be used for a gift tag or ornament.

Cut the desired shape (circle or tag) – punch a hole in the top – take your black ribbon or cut piece of construction paper through the ‘buckle’ and glue it on – glue sequins or doo dads on and tie the thin string to make a loop. Hang on a tree or present with a thoughtful message.

1508975_865135433606221_1056511145028262516_nHow cute are these? – and so simple and inexpensively to make. We love that!

To make these use a cookie cutter and trace the design onto green (or whatever color) construction paper. Here is a pattern you can use – just print out and trace however many you need. (right click to save and enlarge to desired shape)

Easy Christmas Snowman Door Decoration Idea

14980586_1809363412640078_1217137206187697659_nJust use construction paper and the scarf is made from a piece of wrapping paper. Cute – Cheap – Easy! It really does stand out if you have a white door. Think about other ideas that could be used with different door colors – an elf can be made with many different door colors – red could be Santa or Mrs Clause – brown could be a gingerbread man!

Really Cute Popsicle Manger / Cresh

12208379_865135620272869_4943339768784035474_nYou will need six Popsicle sticks. 2 need to be cut in half – one needs to be cut at the 3/4 area. Precision is not necessary and this is a really great project to do with kids. 2 of the halves are used for the sides. 2 of the halves make up Joseph and Mary. The 1/4 cut is used for baby Jesus and the 3/4 is used for the Angel. Attach with hot glue or Elmers glue. Paint using the picture above as a guide using tempura paint. The little finishing touch on the front is made from slivers from a Popsicle stick and some taffeta.

Christmas Candy Cane Wreath

14925260_673532276143865_8704779479642941148_nHow cool – but even better – how simple it is to make these. We like simple and great crafts – and this one is edible too. Yumm. You could use any regular sized candy canes to do this so color combinations are endless. These would work great as gifts as well.

The middle uses a cap from a two liter bottle to provide support while making this wreath. Use hot glue and attach 9 sets of candy canes back to back. Attach these to the cap first and then to the next set of candy canes as you make your way around. Hot glue the tilps of the ‘hook’ together from one to another and secure well to cap. It i important to provide a good strength so it does not come apart. This is topped with a snowflake flat ornament but any ornament that is flat would work.

Some different options for you is to back each candy cane with lace ribbon that comes out on both sides so it can be scene from the top side. Also, it the pictured wreath you could add snowflakes that are much smaller at each joined pair of candy canes.
