Star Of David – Hanukkah

Materials:

  • Craft Sticks
  • Ceramcoat® Acrylic Paint – Azure Blue
  • Ceramcoat® Acrylic Paint – Caribbean Blue
  • Creatology™ Chenille Stem – White Iridescent
  • 3M® Scotch Tape
  • Cardboard
  • Crayola® Blunt Tip Scissors
  • Craft Smart® Paint Brush
  • Craft Smart® All Purpose Glue
  • Paper Towels
  • Paper Plate
  • Jewelry Essentials™ Sequins

Instructions:

  1. Paint 3 craft sticks-Azure Blue, let dry, and glue together to form a triangle. Let dry.
  2. Paint 3 craft sticks-Caribbean Blue, let dry, and glue together to form a 2nd triangle. Let dry.
  3. Glue triangles together as shown to form the Star of David.  Let dry.
  4. Glue sequins to each corner.  Let dry.
  5. Cut and glue a looped piece of chenille to the backside of star as a hanger.  Let dry.

Gingerbread Man

Materials:

  • Cardstock
  • Yarn
  • Creatology™ Pom Poms
  • Glitter Glue – Silver
  • Crayola® Pointed Scissors
  • Craft Smart® All Purpose Glue
  • Paper Plate

Instructions:

  1. Parents: Print gingerbread pattern onto brown cardstock. Leave intact.
  2. Squeeze a small puddle of glue onto a paper plate.
  3. Cut small pieces of yarn, dip in glue and arrange pieces onto paper as shown for mouth and icing details.
  4. Roll pom poms in glue and attach to paper for buttons, eyes and nose as shown.
  5. Embellish with Glitter Glue as desired. Let dry thoroughly.
  6. Cut out gingerbread pattern and display.

Christmas Tree Photo Frame

Materials:

  • Jumbo Craft Sticks
  • Wood Star – Large
  • Yarn – Red
  • Craft Smart® Acrylic Paint – Brown
  • Craft Smart® Acrylic Paint – Grass Green
  • Craft Smart® Acrylic Paint – Red
  • Craft Smart® Acrylic Paint – Yellow
  • Scissors
  • Paint Brush
  • Aleene’s “Tacky” Glue®
  • Paper Towels
  • Paper Plate
  • Stickers – Numbers
  • Creatology™ Foam Dots

Instructions:

  1. Paint star yellow, 10 craft sticks green and 2 craft sticks brown. Let dry.
  2. Lay craft sticks in triangle and trim edges as shown.
  3. Create second layer of tree making slightly larger and trim edges as shown.
  4. Create the last and largest layer of tree, trim edges. It will take 2 craft sticks to make the bottom edge of tree.
  5. Glue the 3 layers together to create your tree.
  6. Cut the brown sticks in 2″ pieces, lay 2 side by side and glue the third on the back to keep them together, forming the trunk.
  7. Glue the trunk to bottom back of tree. Glue a green stick along back side to cover trunk.
  8. Glue yarn to tree as shown for garland.
  9. Add foam dots for ornaments.
  10. Personalize top of tree with star and number stickers.

Gingerbread Magnet

Material List:

  • Crayola® Blunt Tip Scissors
  • Crayola® Washable Markers – Classic, Thin Tip
  • Magnetic Specialty, Inc® Craft Magnets
  • Wood Shape, Gingerbread
  • Crayola® Squeezables™ 3-D Paint

Instructions:

  1. Color the wood gingerbread shape with markers on both sides. Let dry.
  2. Adhere the craft magnet to the back center of the gingerbread shape.
  3. Use Squeezables™ 3-D Paint to decorate the front of the gingerbread shape. Air-dry before attaching to the fridge.

Christmas Tree Decorating: A Space Saving Tip

Branch out of traditional tree trimming mode with some mega paper ornaments that amp up the party spirit.

HERE’S HOW
Buy a selection of paper balls and bells at your local party shop. String lights as usual. Attach the paper  decorations to your tree and finish off with a crepe paper garland.
