-Loops & Threads Impeccable (Solids 128g/4.5oz; 245m/268yds)
1 ball each of:
-Q Contrast A (01040 Black)
-Contrast B (01005 White or 01008 Aran)
-Contrast C (01436 Cherry)
-Contrast D (01630 Pumpkin)
-Set of four size U.S. 5 (3.75 mm) double-pointed knitting
needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
-Stuffing

Gauge
22 sts and 28 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in stocking st.

Instructions
With A, cast on 12 sts. Divide sts evenly onto 3 needles. Join in rnd, placing marker on first st. 1st rnd: ;inc 1. K2) 4 times. 16 sts. 2nd rnd: Knit. 3rd rnd: (Inc 1. K3) 4 times. 20 sts. 4th rnd: Knit. Inc 4 sts on next and follow alt rnd once more. 28 sts. Knit 14 rnds even.

Shape neck and head: 1 st rnd: (K2tog. K5) 4 times. 24 sts.
2nd rnd: (K2tog. K4) 4 times. 20 sts.
3rd rnd: (K2tog. K3) 4 times. 16 sts. 4th md: <K2tog. K2) 4 times.
12 sts. 5th rnd: Inc 1 st in each st around. 24 sts.
Knit 9 rnds even. Stuff Body.

1st rnd: ;K2tog. K4) 4 times. 20 sts. 2nd rnd: (K2tog. K3) 4 times.
16 sts. 3rd rnd: (K2tog. K2) 4 times. 12 sts.
4th rnd: (K2tog. Kl) 4 times. 8 sts.
Break yarn leaving a long end. Draw end tightly through rem sts
and fasten securely.

“Belly”: With B and pair of needles, cast on 5 sts.
**1 st row: (RS). Inc 1. Knit to last 2 sts. Inc 1. Kl. 7 sts. 2nd row:
Purl.
Rep last 2 rows twice more. 11 sts.**
Work 15 rows even in stocking st.

Shape “Face”: 1st row: (RS). (ssk) twice. K3. (K2tog) twice. 7 sts. 2nd row: Purl. 3rd row: (Inc 1. Kl) 3 times. Inc 1.11 sts. Beg with a purl row, work 5 rows stocking st.

Next row: K5 Turn. Leave rem sts on a spare needle.
Next row: P5 Next row: ssk. Kl. K2tog.
Next row: P3tog. Fasten off”
With RS facing, join B to rem sts. ssk. K4.5 sts.
Work from “” to *” as given above.
Sew “Belly/Face” in position.

Wings (make 2): With A and pair of needles, cast on 2 sts.
1strow:(RS).Kl.lnc 1 st in last St. 3 sts.
2nd row: Knit. 3rd row: Knit to last St. Inc 1 st in last St.
4th row: Knit.
Rep last 2 rows 5 times more. 9 sts.
Knit 9 rows even. Cast off. Sew cast off edge at neck,
placing shaped edge of Wing towards back.

Scarf: With C and pair of needles, cast on 40 sts.
Knit 3 rows (garter st). Cast off.
Knot 2 strands of C into fringe 2″ (5 cm) long.
Trim Fringe. With A, embroider eyes using French Knot.
With D, embroider beak using Bullion St.

Feet (make 2): With D and pair of needles, cast on 5 sts.
1 st row: (RS). Cast off 3 sts. K2 (including st on
needle after cast off). 2nd row: K2 3rd row: Cast on 3 sts. K5.
5th to 7th rows: As 1 st to 3rd rows.
Cast off (WS). Sew Feet to Body.

Christmas Treat Cone

Materials:

  • Scissors
  • Crayola® Glue Stick
  • Crayola® Washable Markers – Classic, Thin Tip
  • Cardstock – White
  • Pencil
  • Creatology™ Chenille Stem – Red
  • Creatology™ Chenille Stem – White
  • Creatology™ Pom Pom – White
  • Crayola® Crayons

Instructions:

  1. Print “Holiday Treat Cone” pattern onto white cardstock.
  2. Color in peppermints with markers and crayons as desired.
  3. Cut and form cone with tab inside. Secure tab with glue. Let dry.
  4. Create handle by twisting red and white chenille stem together and attach to inside of cone with glue. Let dry.
  5. Pattern can also be traced onto any paper to create endless variations.
  6. Embellish cone with Pom Poms as desired. Let dry.

Santa Christmas Napkin Ring

Materials:

  • Sculpey® III Clay – Lime
  • Cardboard Paper Towel Tube
  • Craft Sticks
  • Blunt Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Toothpick
  • Oven (for adult use only)
  • Wax Paper
  • Sculpey® III Clay – Red Hot Red
  • Sculpey® III Clay – White
  • Sculpey® III Clay – Beige
  • Sculpey® III Clay – French Blue
  • Sculpey® III Clay – Hot Pink

Instructions:

  1. Cut the paper towel tube into 2-inch thick rings. Knead each clay bar until soft and smooth. Roll Lime clay into a thin sheet. Use the craft stick and ruler to cut a 2 1/8-inch x 6 3/8-inch Lime strip and wrap around the paper towel ring, being sure to blend the seam at back with fingers.
  2. Roll long, medium thick Red Hot Red and White ropes of equal length. Place ropes next to one another and twist together to create peppermint stripes. Roll the ropes against the work surface to create one long rope, at least 13-inches long. Cut the rope in half and wrap one piece around the top of the napkin ring and one around the bottom.
  3. Roll Beige clay into a thin sheet. Use the craft stick to cut a Beige oval for the face; press to napkin ring. Roll small French Blue balls for eyes and press to face; press toothpick into the center of each eye. Roll larger Hot Pink balls for cheeks and an even larger Beige ball for the nose; press to face.
  4. Roll White clay into a thick rope and press flat. Cut sections for hat trim and beard. Roll a small White ball for the hat pom pom; press flat. Set aside. Roll the rest of the Red Hot Red clay into a thin sheet and cut a skinny triangle shape for Santa’s hat. Press to the napkin ring above the head. Press White hat trim to the head and bend the hat tip down as shown. Press the pom pom and beard to the napkin ring. Use the toothpick to make “dots” in all the White pieces.
  5. ADULT:  Bake all pieces at 275° F (130° C) for 15 minutes per ¼-inch (6mm) of thickness. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT exceed the recommended temperature or baking time. Children using clay should be supervised at all times. All baking should be done by an adult. After baking, allow to cool.

Tips

Start with clean hands and work area. Good working surfaces include a glass or metal surface, disposable foil or wax paper.

Gingerbread Man

Materials:

  • Cardstock
  • Yarn
  • Creatology™ Pom Poms
  • Glitter Glue – Silver
  • Crayola® Pointed Scissors
  • Craft Smart® All Purpose Glue
  • Paper Plate

Instructions:

  1. Parents: Print gingerbread pattern onto brown cardstock. Leave intact.
  2. Squeeze a small puddle of glue onto a paper plate.
  3. Cut small pieces of yarn, dip in glue and arrange pieces onto paper as shown for mouth and icing details.
  4. Roll pom poms in glue and attach to paper for buttons, eyes and nose as shown.
  5. Embellish with Glitter Glue as desired. Let dry thoroughly.
  6. Cut out gingerbread pattern and display.

Gingerbread Doll House

Materials:

  • Wood Doll House
  • Ceramcoat® Acrylic Paint – Bambi Brown
  • Glitter Glue – Silver
  • Creatology™ Foam Sheet – White
  • Foam Stickers – Christmas Shapes
  • Craft Sticks
  • Craft Smart® All Purpose Glue
  • Blunt Scissors
  • Craft Smart® Paint Brush
  • Disposable Plate for Paint Palette
  • Container of Water
  • Paper Towels
  • Recycled Newspaper (to protect work surface)
  • Ceramcoat® Acrylic Paint – Dark Brown

Instructions:

  1. Paint the entire doll house with Bambi Brown. Let dry.
  2. Use Dark Brown to paint the edges and inside corners (about ¼-inch) of the house to look like gingerbread. Paint spots with Dark Brown as shown. Let dry.
  3. Cut a length of foam to fit along the roofline, about 1-inch wide and wavy to look like snow. Glue in place.
  4. Glue the foam candies along the roofline.
  5. Use the craft stick to apply Glitter Glue to the corners and roof line of the house as desired. Let dry.
