How did you make the topper?

A white lamp globe was used for the head. In the map department of a major department store you can buy these globe glass lampshades that are meant to screw into a ceiling fixture. The opening allows for the top of tree to insert into it and wont come off. A large sharpie was used to create the face but I would just use acrylic paint now with several coats of paint to make it dark.
