Happy Fathers Day Childs Handprint Tree
Posted by Jeffrey Scott Thomas in Craft Projects, Father's Day, Father's Day, Holiday on June 16, 2013
Create by computer using clip art or paint by hand a tree on white paper. Paint your child’s hands with poster paint or watercolor paint from a tube. Use different colors and variations of colors that appear on a tree. (Blues, greens aqua, yellows) You can also use a stamp pad but the colors won’t be as pronounced. Make imprints overlapping one another. In this picture we used one hand print from each child in the family. We used clip art and printed this out on thick “cardboard/card stock” white paper. We also printed it out with Happy Father’s Day – and it would look nice if you fathomed a little wording such as a poem at the bottom. Give enough time to dry and frame your artwork. It is a little something special that can be hung in your home or used in his office.
To A Father – Walk With Me, Daddy

This poem has been circulating for sometime now around the internet. Retype and print onto a white card stock from your desk top publishing system. Use multicolored ink pads to put impressions of baby’s feet to make a background. I found that paint won’t work as well for a project like this as it tends to be too dark unless you put the foot prints off to each side. Use poster paints or watercolor straight from the tube and rinse feet well. Frame after in dries thoroughly and Dad will enjoy it in a special place in the home or on his desk in his office.

The wedding ring goes on the left ring finger because it is the only finger with a vein that connects to the heart.
Birthday / Party / Wedding Balloon Decorations

This is so simple and cheap and makes a huge impact of color that can be hung from a ceiling or tree or from whatever is above you on your next celebration. When balloon is blown up add a penny to the balloon before you blow it up. This is just the perfect amount of weight to stabilize the balloon so it will hang with little movement from wind or air conditioning. Pictured is all white for a wedding - but think about what your color combinations are for your event and play them up. Multicolored would do for a birthday party; white silver/gold for anniversary; colors of a school for graduation; red white and blue for Fourth of July or Memorial Day; red pink and white for Valentines Day – the possibilities are endless. You could literally have hundreds of these for under ten dollars. Major impact of color(s) and you will be sure to have people in awe.
Balloon Garland

Blow up balloons and with a needle and thick thread thread them together to make a balloon garland. This is very cheap and a great way to add a lot of color to a party. You can use thread but would be more secure if you used embroidery thread. Mix and match colors for your theme to go with the colors of a school for graduation or just go random for a birthday party. This can be something done at the last minute as well as you can get everything you need and have it ready to go.

Cut 3″ squares out of black poster board and use a sharpie marker and mark the edges. Use a gold or silver paint pen and trace a square on top of each square as seen in the picture. Take a six inch length of ribbon (this can be color co-ordinated to work with the schools color just as the black poster board can be changed) and glue it to the top of the black poster board. Hot glue the black square with the square you made on it facing up to the small end of a mini Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup. Top with a small black sequin or bead to cover the glued ends of the ribbon to make a finished look. These would make great party favors or would make a great gift with several placed with tissue paper in a gift box.
Graduation Caps Favor Suckers

This is a no-brainer – This is so simple! Stick a mini Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup upside down onto a sucker stick. Melt chocolate and attach Reece’s Cup with a square of chocolate. Add a dollop of chocolate on top and add a string licorice and mini M&M to the top. Color co-ordinate if you can to school colors or do in a large variation of colors. These would be great for a party as favors or to have several nestled into tissue paper/wax paper inside a gift box to give to your special grad.
